This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you visit our online store, place an order or contact us. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Aura of Switzerland is operated by Tim Rudolf, who is responsible for the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at info@auraofswitzerland.com. Our postal address is listed in our Legal Notice.

2. What data we collect

  • Contact and order data: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (if provided), the products you order and your order history.
  • Payment data: your payment method and transaction details. Card details are processed directly by our payment providers; we do not receive full card numbers.
  • Account data: your login details and preferences, if you create a customer account.
  • Communication: messages you send us, for example support requests.
  • Device and usage data: your IP address, browser and device information, the pages you view and how you interact with our store. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.

3. Why we use your data

  • To process and deliver your order, handle payment, send order and shipping updates, and deal with returns and complaints. Legal basis under the GDPR: performance of a contract.
  • To answer your questions and provide customer support. Legal basis: performance of a contract or our legitimate interest.
  • To operate, secure and improve our store and to prevent fraud. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
  • To send newsletters or marketing messages, but only if you have subscribed or where the law permits it. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: your consent or our legitimate interest.
  • To comply with legal obligations, such as accounting and tax retention requirements. Legal basis: legal obligation.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

4. Cookies

Our store uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, such as for the shopping cart and checkout. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you consent through our cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie preferences on our website or by deleting cookies in your browser.

5. Who we share your data with

We only share personal data where this is necessary for the purposes described above:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes data on our behalf, including hosting, customer accounts and payment processing.
  • Printify and its production partners, which produce and ship your order. For this purpose they receive your name, shipping address and order details.
  • The payment providers you choose at checkout, which process your payment.
  • Shipping carriers and customs authorities, which receive the data needed to deliver your parcel and clear it through customs.
  • Authorities, courts or professional advisers, where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Shopify

Our store runs on Shopify. Shopify processes personal data about your use of our store in order to provide and improve its services, and for certain features it acts as an independent controller. For more information, see Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy at https://privacy.shopify.com/en.

7. Transfers abroad

Recipients of your data may be located outside Switzerland, in particular in the EU/EEA, Canada and the United States. Where data goes to a country that Switzerland does not recognise as providing adequate data protection, we rely on recognised safeguards: the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified recipients, or standard contractual clauses. Alternatively, we rely on an exception provided by law, such as the performance of a contract with you.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above:

  • Order and accounting data are kept as required by commercial and tax law, generally for 10 years.
  • Account data is kept until you delete your account.
  • Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have incorrect data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • receive your data in a common format (data portability);
  • object to processing, including for direct marketing;
  • withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you also have the right to restrict processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). In the EU/EEA or the UK, it is the authority in your country of residence.

10. Children

Our store is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no transmission over the internet is completely secure.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
